a thought emerged after I was done recording. So I was lamenting the lack of explicit directions from the guide *except* that he DID point me in a direction back on the shoreline. So I'm starting to wonder if I overshot my intended direction and I'm just, like, too far away now for the guide to be able to properly, well, guide me, because there are just too many paths.
