I cannot overemphasise how important it is to have a good UPS (universal power supply) if you do a lot of work with a computer. I got mine like two years ago and it saved so much time when a brown out just kinda happens while processing a video or something just kinda happens. I think this is the first time I got a power outage *while recording* though so, yeah, here we go. like I'm not even shilling for a specific brand or anything, just get one! though do your research, you want to make sure you get a voltage that's good for your needs. when the power cut out for a couple of minutes during recording, i had a whole 15 minutes that I could use while my computer was rending galaxy and all its ubershaders. that was plenty of time to give it a bit to stop recording and wait it out. if power wasn't restored after a few more minutes I'd have plenty of time to make a savestate and turn my computer off the normal healthy way.
