I've removed a lot of my attempts at getting that power-up for the sake of time, but I honestly didn't have to remove that much. I think ultimately it's kind of like doing a large combo in a fighting game - dash cancelling is all about finding a rythm. You can't really 'look' at what you see, or at least you can't just rely on that. It's something you feel, it's a much more tactil experience than a visual one.
