If you looked at the 'coming up next' thread on talkhaus you would have seen exactly that, an entry simply titled 'mystery box' in brackets (because it forms a box you see). Original, and the cause of that scary black screen video yesterday, I wanted to play Samurai Shodown 2. That is a very important game for me, I am absolutely certain it shaped up some of what I am today. I wanted to play the game through with all characters, and have some fun with the weird bad translation. Now the game is known to be absurdly difficult, but I figured I could deal with the cheating AI. 4.5 hours later, I hadn't reached the boss yet. At some point I just had to admit to myself it wouldn't work. There are things I cannot do. Later that evening, I tried again at the absolute lowest difficulty. An hour and a half later, although I did reach the boss I couldn't get a round through. And this was playing with Haohmaru! I was trying to imagine what it would be like with, like, a character I didn't even know how to play like Ukyo or something... Ultimately, at this point in time, I just do not have the ability to make it happen. I *want* to eventually do it, but I'll have to like actually put in time to practice or something. But man Waku Waku 7 is a blast though. Speaking with absolute honesty, this game would have been in the second mystery box, if such a thing where to happen. It's a lot more reasonable to play, and the spectacle is out there. I have no idea how I learned of this game and what made me play it, this was in a post-internet, emulation-using world that I've found it. Could be through mugen ? Anyways!
